The journey to wellness was a rocky one for me. Through infancy, childhood and adolescence I experienced recurring health issues; some of which were very serious. Doctors diagnosed me with allergies, eczema, insomnia, anemia, candida, scoliosis, hypothyroidism, hypoglycemia, migraines and chronic fatigue syndrome, and I'm sure there were others I can't recall. My family was supportive of trying complementary therapies so I was exposed to various alternative healing techniques, but I grew discouraged by how quickly I would revert back to 'normal' after visiting a doctor or therapist. As I reached young adulthood I became a health detective searching for something that would help me find wellness.
After many years of exploration and experimentation in the field of Holistic Health, I encountered a handful of therapies that truly brought me to a state of balance and decided to pursue professional training in them so that I might assist others in finding more balance, health and joy in their lives.
This decision led me to obtain a BA in Holistic Health and Wellness from Prescott College and to train with them as a yoga instructor. I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, a member and former employee of the International Association of Yoga Therapists and a Bach Foundation Registered Practitioner, having completed all three levels of training with the Bach Centre (the world's standard for flower essences). Finally, I've had professional training in Reiki for both people and animals, including training with the Animal Reiki Source and I retain membership with the International Association of Reiki Professionals.
I am deeply committed to facilitating healing of people and animals and educating individuals on how to be their own best therapists.
